Šimon Wikstrøm Svěrák‘s research specializes in the history and theory of Czechoslovak and Czech surrealism, Czechoslovak structuralism, and socially critical psychoanalysis. He has critically edited and provided commentary on Vratislav Effenberger’s books Republiku a varlata (Republic and Testicles, Prague 2012) and Modely a metody (Models and Methods, Prague 2024). In collaboration with František Dryje and Ladislav Šerý, he compiled the anthology of Czechoslovak surrealist inquiries Hádky v kompasu: Surrealistické ankety 1951–1986 (Arguments in the Compass: Surrealist Inquiries 1951–1986, Prague 2023). He also co-edited the monograph Eva Švankmajerová – Jsem malířka (Eva Švankmajerová – I Am a Painter, Prague 2023) together with František Dryje, Bertrand Schmitt, and Jan Švankmajer.
